Quickstart
Welcome to Viber Messages!
This quickstart guide will help you get started with Viber Messages. If you're new to using Viber Messages, this guide will help you get started quickly.
What is Viber Messages?
Viber Messages is a platform that allows you to send messages to Viber and other platforms. With Viber Messages, you can send messages to multiple platforms without having to set up each platform separately.
You can create campaigns for different events:
- Subscribing to a list
- Scheduled messages
Let's get started!
Set up your first campaign
1. Create a list
The first step is to create a list, which you can use to group your subscribers. To create a list, click on the Lists menu item and click the Create new list button.
Then you can provide the list name (e.g. "Newsletter"). You will be able to refer to the list by this name in your campaigns.
2. Create a channel
In order to send messages to your list, you first need to create a channel. You can send messages to your subscribers through channels. You can create a channel for each supported platform. You can also create multiple channels for the same platform if you have multiple accounts.
To create a channel, click on the Channels menu item and click the Create new channel button.
Here you need to provide the channel name and the platform.
The supported platforms are:
- Viber
- Webhook
- SMS (Coming soon)
After you create the channel, click the Save button.
Next, you need to configure the channel. Click on the channel name. Depending on the channel type, you need to provide the following information:
- Viber: Set the sender ID and TTL
- Webhook: URL settings
3. Create a campaign
You can create campaigns to send messages to your list. After you create the campaign, you can configure the campaign data in the editor. For example, the campaign type (Scheduled or Subscribed), the audience, the channels and the campaign content.
To create a campaign, click on the Campaigns menu item and click the Create new campaign button.
After you create the campaign, click the Save button and click on the campaign name to open the campaign editor.
On this screen, you can configure the campaign. Click the Select audience button and in the popup select the list you created earlier and click the Select button.
Next, select the channels for the campaign. Click the Select button next to the channel where you want to send the message.
4. Set up the campaign content
There are several templates available that you can use to quickly create messages. The templates depend on the selected channel.
The available templates for Viber messages are:
- Text
- Image
- Text and button
- Text, image and button
If you select the template you want to use, the settings will appear below the template selector.
After you set up the campaign content, you need to specify when the message should be sent.
5. Start the campaign
After you set up the basic data for the campaign, such as the audience, channels and campaign content, you need to specify when the message should be sent.
You can choose between two triggers:
- Scheduled (Schedule)
- On Subscription (On Subscription)
This decision is important because different triggers affect the campaign differently. If you choose the Subscribed trigger, the message will be sent when someone subscribes to the list. If you choose the Scheduled trigger, the message will be sent at the pre-set time. With this type of campaign, once the campaign ends, the campaign will be automatically stopped and you will not be able to modify the campaign. Later, you will be able to copy the campaign if you want to use the campaign content for another campaign.
Choose the Subscribed trigger and click the Save button.
After you have completed this step, click the Activate button and you will have finished setting up your first campaign.
6. Add subscribers to the list
After you have finished setting up your campaign and activated it, the next step is to add subscribers to the list.
To add subscribers, click on the Lists menu item and click on the list name. After you open the list, click the Create button in the Members section.
In the popup, you can enter the subscriber's data and click the Save button.
Congratulations! You have successfully sent your first campaign.
